Overview
Ego Authority is rare. It belongs to Manifestors and Projectors with a defined Heart/Ego center connected directly to the Throat, with no defined Sacral or Solar Plexus. For these people, the will — what they genuinely want and are willing to work for — is the correct guidance.
Inner Authority is the body's decision-making intelligence — distinct from the mind. In Human Design (called the Energy Blueprint on Prime Self), the mind is never the authority. It is a passenger, not the driver. Authority determines HOW you make correct decisions — not what decision to make.
How It Works
Ego Authority is accessed through speaking. Listen to what comes out of your mouth when you talk about what you want or what you're willing to commit to. If you hear yourself making promises, notice whether they feel like genuine will or obligation. The question is: "What do I actually want, and am I willing to pay the price?"
How to Practice
Talk out decisions with a neutral listener — not for advice, but to hear yourself. What you say reveals what your will is actually oriented toward. Notice the difference between "I should" and "I want to." Ego Authority aligns with the latter.
The Not-Self Pattern
Committing to what you think you should want, or what others want from you, depletes the Heart's energy. Since the Ego runs on willpower and rest cycles, making decisions from obligation leads to burnout and the sense of never having enough energy.
