Overview
If your Solar Plexus center is defined, you have Emotional Authority — regardless of any other defined motor. Emotional Authority means you ride a wave of feelings, and clarity comes only after that wave has moved through its full cycle. Rushing a decision at the peak or trough of the wave leads to regret.
Inner Authority is the body's decision-making intelligence — distinct from the mind. In Human Design (called the Energy Blueprint on Prime Self), the mind is never the authority. It is a passenger, not the driver. Authority determines HOW you make correct decisions — not what decision to make.
How It Works
Your emotional wave moves between highs (hope, euphoria) and lows (pain, melancholy). Neither extreme is the right place to decide. Clarity lives in the middle — after you have slept on it, after the initial excitement or fear has settled. A decision that still feels right across multiple emotional states is a reliable yes.
How to Practice
When something important arises, say: "I need some time with this." Notice how your feelings about it shift over hours or days. If you still feel drawn to it when you are neither excited nor depressed, that is your signal to move forward.
The Not-Self Pattern
Deciding at the peak of excitement ("I love this idea!") or the bottom of a low ("nothing matters anyway") leads to commitments you later regret. The not-self theme is bitterness — the residue of too many un-felt decisions.
